Hello!
My name is Adam Franklin and I am a freelance web designer in the city of Pittsburgh, PA. I have been involved in web design and HTML related projects since 1995. Before that, I spent some time doing things like creating templates and layouts for the old WWIV BBS system. As a web designer I am focused on working with individuals, small-companies, and non-profits to provide websites that help them establish a place of their own in the digital world.
I Make Web Sites
I create sites using HTML and CSS, with an occasional splash of PHP and jQuery. I code everything out by hand, as opposed to using a program like Dreamweaver. This means your site is clean on both the outside and inside, and that it will be more accessible to more people.
I Make Them So You Can Use Them
In addition to doing the HTML and CSS thing, I am comfortable working with different content management systems such as the Volusion Shopping Cart and the WordPress Publishing Platform. WordPress can be a very powerful Content Management System and its incredible library of plugins and widgets make it extraordinarily extensible.
And I Help You Reach the People You Want to Reach
I am also happy to help you improve your existing website through both design changes and what is broadly referred to as SEO – generally improving your site’s visibility around the web, and especially with the search engines. We can do this using free applications such as Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools, a few other neat applications, and a healthy amount of research and insight.
Perhaps more importantly, I can help you to develop a useful and relevant social media strategy. Just being on sites like Twitter and Facebook isn’t intrinsically of any value to your business. By establishing a clear purpose and an effective strategy that takes into account things like voice, frequency, reach, and measurement, you can have a a social media program that is serving your business in a very real way.
