The Business: KP White provides gardeners, landscapers and commercial growers with the best and highest quality Organic and Non-Toxic Fertilizers, Micro Nutrients Pest Controls and Soil Amendments.

The Gig: This site had a nice enough design already, but the code inside was in need of a serious update.  A lot of important text was hidden in image files, which is bad news for SEO and accessibility.  The product listings were aesthetically inconsistent and some of the prices needed to be updated and changed.

The Result: Keeping many of the original elements, I recoded this site to fit modern web standards, improved accessibility, and made some important touchups to the layout and product listings.  By creating a consistent set of typographic rules, the site became much easier to read and scan.  I added some basic SEO to the site, so that it will be more effectively indexed by search engines.

Commercial Lawn care products can be complex and presenting all the important information can be a challenge. By establishing a consistent layout for each product and obvious use of headings, KPWhite can put a lot of information on single page.

The Original code for this site had the banner completely in an image format. This is bad news for SEO purposes. So many important elements of the site were being hidden as an image. By re-doing the banner and using Header Tags for the important text, the site is far more “search engine friendly”.
