The Business: MgBg Films.  MgBg Films is an Independent filming/editing/production studio based in Pittsburgh.  Their site serves many different functions, acting as a kind of online portfolio, e-commerce store, blog, repository of thoughts on films and media theory, and much more.

The Gig:  The challenge was to find a way to organize such a large amount of content in an elegant way and to do it in a way that the owners can control their content and frequently update or change with little effort.  We decided to use WordPress as a CMS, taking advantage of all the built-in functionality WordPress has to offer.  Additionally, the site needed a pretty big makeover on an aesthetic level.  And it all needed to happen on a very tight budget.

The Result:
Complete overhaul of existing site – new layout, new code, new organization, new platform,  basically a new site. Created portfolios for Media/Essays/Other Art. Implemented E-Commerce solution for small business. Custom graphics and icons.  Improved contact functionality and integration of social media.  By using WordPress for the CMS, the client was able to take responsibility for a lot of the content and I was able to use my time in a more efficient manner – focusing on “Web Designer” type things rather than transferring text and media from the old to the new.

While Every page features some Social Media Integration, it was important to make the contact page feature MGBG Films Social Media presence even more prominently

In Addition to featuring films, Steel City Movers also shared a number of essays on different subjects related to film making on their site
